The only prestige cuvée Demi Sec in the world, this exceptional champagne is crafted using just the first portion of the cuvée press – a hallmark of all Armand de Brignac assemblages. The blend features a trio of vintages from 2009, 2010, and 2012, consisting of 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, and 20% Pinot Meunier, sourced from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards in the La Marne region’s Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs terroirs.
With a dosage of 34g/l which is low for a Demi Sec champagne, it achieves a lower sweetness level than typical for the style, yet provides just the right amount that makes it the perfect accompaniment to a variety of cuisines. To avoid heavy sweetness, the winemakers selected the oldest Armand wines available in the cellars while keeping the dosage minimal.
NOSE
Inviting aromas of buttered brioche impart a pastry-like richness, followed by sweet English candies and ripe, stewed fruits that add warmth and depth to the bouquet.
PALATE
A rich interplay of flavors unfolds, with velvety chocolate coating the palate in a luscious layer, while wild blueberries introduce a juicy, vibrant contrast. Candied citrus fruits add a sweet, tangy zing that cuts through the richness.
FINISH
Long with a substantial acidity that balances the wine’s complexity.
